The unique Ostrava Fest1val, which will become the annual opener of the festival season, will offer not only in FUTUREM, but also in the area of Dolní Vítkovice and the wider centre a week of programme from A to Z. Architecture, design, film and fashion.

Besides a very rich programme, there will also be an opening of Rony Plesl’s exhibition (admission by special invitation only).
In his artistic practice, the artist consciously moves between free sculpture and original design in the medium of glass. In a career spanning nearly four decades, he has become one of the most internationally renowned artists working with this unique medium. Plesl’s contemporary sculpture projects are born out of personal encounters, a deep knowledge of art history and a humble approach to the craft of glassmaking, resulting in objects or paintings that take on richly expressive layers of meaning around the world.
